Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all!

In celebration of today, the most shamrock-colored of all days, Krispy Kreme is offering its customers the chance to try a doughnut that’s brimming with Irish holiday charm.

No, it’s not a doughnut that’s filled with Guinness (although that would be amazing). Instead, the Original Glazed Doughnut will gain an apostrophe and a lot of green food coloring as it becomes the O’Riginal Glazed Doughnut, a luminescent green baked treat that’s designed to remind consumers of the rolling green hills of good old Ireland.

These green doughnuts will be available in Krispy Kreme stores all across the US and Canada, but only for today, March 17 – by tomorrow, as everyone crawls out of bed with an almighty Irish hangover, any morning pick-me-up you might want from Krispy Kreme will be back to their normal, boring color.

As celebrations for St. Paddy’s Day get into full swing today, don’t forget to drink responsibly – Irish culture is about more than getting drunk and punching stuff, so don’t just use the country’s day of national celebration as an excuse to get wrecked.

Unless you plan on getting wrecked on sugary green circular baked goods, in which case, you know where to head. Enjoy your suspiciously colored doughnuts, and be sure to brush your teeth afterwards.
