Sigur Rós Launches a Brand of Marijuana Candy, Because Why Not?

Yes, you read the title correctly. Warbly Icelandic folk (or rock? Or alternative? Who can say?) band Sigur Rós are launching their own brand of delicious candies, with one particularly special ingredient.

It’s weed. These are weed candies that are designed to get you stoned while you appreciate the level of detail on your fingertips and enjoy some classic Sigur Rós aural perfection.

The limited edition gumdrops – named “Wild Sigurberries”, of course – are designed to perfectly compliment not only the distinctive sound of the Icelandic music group, but also the homeland from which they hail.

The sweets are made in conjunction with Lord Jones, and are pretty fancy (as you’d expect), despite being described on the Lord Jones website as being “inspired by the flavors of foraged Icelandic berries~wild blackberries, strawberries and blueberries”. So they’re an expensive way to experience the taste of picking free fruit off the ground in Iceland while off your head on drugs that are impossible to grow in the country’s cold climate.

Naturally, thanks to the special ingredient that makes these worth purchasing, they’re not available everywhere in the United States.

They can be bought in some select retail locations across California, though, as well as through the Lord Jones website, if you trust the USPS to actually get them to your door rather than “accidentally” going missing after a postal worker decides she’s not getting paid enough and that she deserves a nice break to enjoy eating some sweet, mind-altering substances while listening to Hoppípolla.
