The saga continues! Now that it’s summer Starbucks has rolled out a seemingly endless number of iced beverages—from pretty rainbow drinks infused with sweet teas to a bubbly new Nitro Cold Brew and Starbucks Granitas, the Seattle-based coffee chain has just unveiled yet another new drink – and this time it includes the kick of caffeine you’ve been waiting for!

The all-new Affogato-Style Blended Frappuccino is being released today, July 7, and is inspired by the classic affogato Italian dessert that combines hot espresso poured over a scoop of vanilla gelato. The Affogato Frappuccino is just that, except instead of vanilla ice cream your barista will pour a shot of espresso over a finished Starbucks Frappuccino to create creamy pockets of coffee and a dreamy, caffeine-infused marbling visual.

“We start with a shot of our smooth signature Espresso Roast known for its rich flavor and caramelly sweetness,” Ryan Coombes, a member of Starbucks’ beverage development team said in a press release. “When you pour the espresso over the Frappuccino, it creates a beautiful marbling finish.”

Starbucks will feature three Frappuccino blended beverages Affogato-style including Vanilla Bean, Caramel and Mocha, however any Frappuccino can be ordered Affogato-style with a kick of espresso poured on top.

Available today, the limited edition Affogato-style blended Frappuccino from Starbucks will be featured all summer long in the US and Canada. If a shot of espresso with loads of sugar aren’t really your thing, you can always get a taste of it by ordering it Mini Frappuccino style, served in a 10-ounce cup.
