Taco Bell has revealed their new secret menu item and it's a…drum roll please…a Quesalupa.
Following in their tradition of combining two things that you only marginally like, such as the Doritos Taco or the quesarito, Taco Bell's newest Frankenstein meal is part quesadilla and part Chalupa. The Quesalupa is a shell stuffed with melted pepper jack cheese and stuffed with beef, lettuce, tomato and sour cream, also known as the Taco Bell "three" (lettuce, tomato, sour cream).
Remember the good old days of team bonding or summer camp, where you blindly fell off an elevated surface and trusted your peers to catch you? Well, Taco Bell is channeling that whole trust fall mentality in preparation for Super Bowl Sunday with their latest menu item.
The fast food chain is promoting the blind dish on their homepage, which you can preorder for $2.99 and pick up in-store on February 6, which is two days before the item will be revealed to the public on February 8.
Although there is no official word (obviously) about what exactly the food item is going to be, according to the mystery item’s allergen list, it contains wheat flour, pepper jack, tomatoes, beef, lettuce, and cheddar cheese. Kind of sounds like most of the other items on the menu, but whatever, I’m probably still going to order a bunch of them so I can feel like I’m a part of a super secret club.
I’m not sure any item can dethrone the reigning king of Taco Bell that is the quesarito, but I guess we’ll find out when the fast food chain airs their super-expensive commercial advertising the new product during this year’s Super Bowl.
BONUS: Even James Harden has no clue WTF this mystery item is.
