Penny-pinching, red-eyed college kids everywhere, rejoice: Taco Bell is testing a new value menu that will take it easy on your wallet while still sufficiently assaulting your insides.
Taco junkies, nacho noshers, and burrito brains in Omaha, Nebraska, are benefiting from the Crave More Menu, which offers nine items that all cost under $1 before taxes, according to Brand Eating.
Among the offerings are five new menu items, including the Flamin' Hot Fritos Tacos—the natural evolution of their famous chip-shelled tacos that all got started in the form of Doritos Locos Tacos (they've also foregone a chip-based taco shell for one made of straight fried chicken). The taco is 89 cents on the new menu, as are the Queso Bean Burrito and Veggie Tostada, which are both also new items.
Also debuting for the fast food chain are the Queso Beef Burrito and an order of Queso and Chips, which are available for 99 cents, along with the Shredded Chicken Mini Quesadilla and Beefy Fritos Burrito.
For 79 cents, Omahans can purchase Cinnamon Twists or a Cheesy Roll-Up.
Taco Bell hasn't yet indicated any plans to unleash the new menu nationwide, but one has to assume a roll-out of the Crave More Menu, or a version of the one above, is in the works. Earlier this year, the fast food chain unveiled a $1 breakfast menu to rival morning value menus of its competitors.
Now if they'd just come to their senses and bring their Fries Supreme to the United States.
