Two Moonshine Cocktails to Help You Survive Thanksgiving

We all have this fantastical image of an idyllic Thanksgiving – generations of family, maybe some friends, sitting around a perfectly set table, with a perfectly cooked turkey, tons of sides, all communing in relative harmony. Unfortunately the reality is often quite different.

Maybe the kids aren’t behaving well, or too many chefs are fighting for space in the kitchen, or people who shouldn’t be together are stuck in a tiny home when long festering issues surface. Hopefully this isn’t your holiday, but if you need a mental escape, we may have just the thing: Moonshine.

For the moment we’re going to put aside the argument over whether store bought moonshine can even be considered true moonshine and just focus on its “medicinal” merits. And by medicinal, we mean it’s guaranteed to numb you to your surroundings. While there are numerous commercial moonshines popping up regularly, we’ve recently discovered Stillhouse Moonshine, a surprisingly drinkable 100% corn whiskey that tastes pretty great just shaken (i.e. Bruised) over ice.

But to get a true taste of the holidays, we have a couple fall-themed cocktails sure to put you at ease, no matter what you’re putting up with.

2 oz Stillhouse Original Moonshine
2 oz Fresh Juiced Squash
3/4 oz Browned Butter
3/4 oz Sage simple syrup
Method: Shake & fine strain. Serve down.
Garnish: Whole cinnamon stick
Glass: Rocks Glass

2 oz juniper-infused Stillhouse Original Moonshine
1 oz pasteurized organic egg white
2 oz Fresh squeezed orange
¾ oz fresh lime juice
¾ oz rosemary simple syrup
Garnish: Brush the Fresh Rosemary sprig across the side of the glass briskly to activate aromatics.
Method: Shake & strain
