When we think of celebrities, it’s easy to assume they’re invincible to depression. (After all, if there’s one thing we know about stardom, it’s that fame and strong mental health go hand in hand.) In 2015, Selena Gomez told the world that she has lupus. Sadly, anxiety, panic attacks, and depression are just some of the side-effects. Gomez took a year off to focus on her well-being and to battle the autoimmune disease. She told her fans, ‘I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness.’
