Blind Man Is The Real-Life Batman That Can ‘See’ With Sound
Imagine riding a bike, running a marathon, playing catch with friends and doing bike tricks. Now let’s make it more challenging: you are doing all of that blindfolded, you are riding the bike in public, and there is traffic too and many streets you have to pick from – and all of that is what Daniel Kish has to do.
Kish has been nicknamed “the real-life Batman” and not because he saved a whole city, but because he uses a trick to navigate around all on his own.
It’s called echolocation, and it’s also what whales do, but if we called him “Whaleman,” it didn’t sound that cool, right?
Prepare to see his incredible story – this man is amazing!
20. A Tough Childhood
Daniel Kish might have had a tough childhood, but his breakthrough has inspired thousands of people and helped others in his situation.
He was only 13 months old when he suffered from retinoblastoma, which is a rare type of cancer that attacks the cochlea.
The doctors had to save his life, but Daniel would then be blind for the rest of his life…
19. Completely Blind
The poor kid did not even get to understand what he was seeing before doctors had to remove his eyes to save his life. By his first birthday, Daniel was completely blind.
However, because he never wanted to wear sunglasses, he received prosthetic eyes that would replace the ones he was missing. He couldn’t see, but he soon found a loophole.
18. After Surgery
Kish had to go through many surgeries, and after an intervention, he did the most unexpected thing. The blind boy woke up in the intensive care nursery, climbed out of his crib, and started walking in the hospital.
What was so amazing about it was that he didn’t bump into a single thing, and had no assistance whatsoever!
17. On His Own Adventures
When he was a toddler, he woke up in the middle of the night and got out of bed. Then, walking towards his window, he opened it and jumped into his yard with no hesitation. Soon after that, he hopped the fence and sneaked into the neighbor’s yard.
That night, his parents were visited by a police officer and their son who should have been sound asleep…
