A Man Visits A Family And Claims He Is Their “Dead” Father Who Was Missing For 20 Years

There is nothing more tragedic than learning your loved one had passed away. Coping with the fact that someone you love is missing is painful enough, but knowing that this person had died and you will never see them again is heart-breaking.

A man called Winston Bright from the City of New York said goodbye to his family before heading to work on October 12, 1990. That was the last time anyone had ever seen or heard from him.

For more than a year, his three children and wife had been searching for him in every way they could. Eventually, he had been declared dead by his wife, Leslie.

Then, after two decades, a strange man contacted the grieving family and claimed to be their missing father.

The day of Winston’s disappearance started as usual. He was getting ready for his day at work as a switchman at New York Telephone. Bright said goodbye to his family and left the house.

Winston later called Leslie during his lunch break and told her he would be home at approximately 5:30 pm. Nothing about his voice on the phone seemed unusual.

Sadly, that phone call was the last time his family heard from Winston for almost two decades.

Winston never came home that evening. His wife and kids tried to contact him several times, all to no avail. Soon, the police investigation had begun. Posters of the man’s face were put up all over the city.

Winston’s family and the police contacted all homeless shelters, hospitals, friends, and coworkers in hopes of finding any information.

Despite the months-long investigation, there were no traces of Winston’s disappearance. There were no credit card purchases and not even one withdrawal from his bank account since he had gone missing.

The paycheck that Winston got on the day of his disappearance was never cashed either.
