Phone store workers know that people often come in for silly reasons, but that’s their job. What isn’t their job is to deal with the craziness, both tangible and otherwise that are often found in people’s phones.

And that’s why we’re here today.

These workers have seen and done it all and that includes dealing with dead cockroaches, toilet water, horse pictures, Tinder, Alaskan Timberwolves and more.

And they’re telling us their harrowing tales today. These are the funniest, most embarrassing and downright scary things that phone store workers have found in other cell phones.

A Matter of Professional Pride

I had to fix this phone and to do that, I had to remove the case. When I did that, there was a desiccated cockroach hanging out there.

It was a matter of professional pride that I did not lose my lunch right there. After I replaced the SIM card and said goodbye, I went to the back room to completely freak out.

Toilet Phones

When I was a newbie phone tech, I learned the hard way that 90% of wet phones were actually toilet phones. And there were so many of them.

The problem was that the customers never said why the phones were wet until I already had it in my hands. I kept a box of gloves near my workspace after the fifth time.

He’s Hacking My Phone 

One time, a woman came in convinced that her ex was hacking her phone. So when she wasn’t using it, she decided to leave it in the oven because it would block the signals.

One day, she was baking and forgot the phone in the oven. She came back into the store screaming that it was my fault. To this day I don’t know how.

Ant Party

One time I opened the back of a phone to find tons of tiny black ants, both dead and alive back there. It was like they were having a party and some of them partied so hard that they died there.

It was disgusting.
