Back From the Dead

I once worked at a bridal store where most of the brides who came in were lovely. They were just so happy that to be engaged and looking for dresses that there was no time for an attitude.

But every now and then, a bridezilla would walk in. This lady once walked in to say that her fiancé had died, so she wanted a refund… then she came back in a few days later to say that they made up, so she wanted the dress.

So, I guess he wasn’t dead.

Doing It Herself

One the day of her wedding, one of the brides who hired me became an absolute monster. She started to demand that they serve the same food as the wedding happening in the next ballroom.

Why was this a problem? She only paid for the cocktail reception package, while the one next door spared no expense. When they refused, she went to the kitchen to load up the trays herself.

She reported me to my bosses.

Attack at the Shower

The worst that I’ve seen is a bride who sent her wedding planner to get a refund because she couldn’t – because she was in the psych ward.

After saying we needed to speak to her in person, the coordinator said that she couldn’t because she wanted to attack her pregnant sister when she announced that the baby’s father was the groom, at the bridal shower.

Everyone got a refund except the pregnant sister – the maid of honor.

“You Get Me”

My friend, an amazing wedding planner who I work for, does everything from wedding dress design to flowers, décor, you name it, so his services are not cheap.

Five days before the wedding, one of his clients calls to say that she could not do it because she was in love with someone else. She goes on to profess her love for him saying, “You get me!

I’ve never met a man like you.” He responds by saying, “do you know how much money your parents are spending for me to get you?!” She walked down the aisle 5 days later.
