Authorities Quarantine Property After Cutting Tree

The displease was clear on his face as he wiped the sweat from his brow. He spat onto the wet ground and tightened his grip around the axe. He took a deep breath as he stepped back.

He wasn’t about to let this tree destroy his farm. He closed his eyes and swung at the tree as hard as he could. But when he opened his eyes and saw what was in the tree, he jumped back.

Grateful

Lucas Brown was especially grateful for two things in his life. One was his family. He had an amazing wife named Debra and together they shared three beautiful children named Brian, Shelly, and Kenny.

The other was his farm. It had been part of his family for decades and he put his blood, sweat, and tears into it. It was more than just a ranchette, it was his family’s source of livelihood. One day, when Lucas discovered that his land was slowly dying, he knew he had to take action.

Lucas farmed with birch, pine, and spruce trees which he sold to the local market. Eventually, he began growing apple and maple trees. It was completely new to him, but he enjoyed it.

The entire farm was filled with beautiful swaying trees and dark, rich soil, but the real eye-catcher was a massive oak tree in the center of the farm. But little did anyone know that the tree would be the reason for the Brown family’s troubles.

Strict Routine

Lucas had a strict routine every single day. Every morning he drove down the farm to inspect his trees. He checked the acidity of the soil and made sure that every tree looked healthy.

That morning, he woke up early, as usual. His eldest son, Kenny, decided to join him for his routine check-up. But this was not the usual morning.

Foul Smell

The first thing Lucas noticed when he opened their front door was the lingering stench in the air. Usually, the farm smelled like wet soil and fresh leaves, but there was a faint foulness in the air.

Lucas turned to Kenny and suggested that they continue on foot. It was unusual for them to explore on foot, the farm was far too big. But something was wrong, and they had to figure out what was going on.
