For anyone who has taken a walk through a cemetery, you might have seen some gravestones with strange or intricate carvings.

Clasped Hands

Hands aren’t particularly rare, but they are special because they can have several meanings.
It can be a goodbye to the departed or a message of constant devotion. It can also be a symbol of love between a couple or a strong bond of friendship.
Lambs

This one revolves around the bible passage John 1:29, which says, “Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”
It’s a reference to Jesus and therefore something many Christians might want on their final resting place. The animal also symbolizes virtue and goodness, which is why it’s often used for children.
An Hourglass

There’s a double meaning for this one.
The first is just a symbol of death – that the person’s time has ended. The second is a sign of resurrection. Meaning, when you flip the hourglass over, time is reset and the person is reborn in some way.
