Man Buys New House, Then Instinct Tells Him To Check The Basement

Alex’s hands start to shake and he can feel his heartbeat in his throat. “This couldn’t be legit could it?” He asks himself, his eyes fixated on the sight before him. He brushes his head and ponders what to do. Should he call the police?

The FBI? Hundreds of questions run through his mind. “This was supposed to be a fresh start in a new home,” Alex says out loud before letting out a sigh.

Moving In

The day before, Alex unpacked the last box and looked around his new home. He lets out a smile as he breathes in the air. Alex had managed to get a good deal on this house as the owner passed away, but this didn’t phase Alex one bit.

When he originally viewed the house he was aware of the basement filled with junk. If anything, this appealed to Alex as he intended to transform the basement into another living space over time.

Little did Alex know he would never get the chance to decorate his basement.

A Noise In The Night

Alex turns off the lights in his new home and makes his way to bed to spend his first night in his new home. As he melted into his freshly washed bedding, he drifted off to sleep.

A few hours had passed and Alex was asleep. All of a sudden as the clock ticked 3:04 am the sound of scratching and clanging pierces the silence in the air. Alex jolts up, alarmed by the sound. It’s coming from the basement.

Into The Basement

Alex grabs his phone and wraps himself up in his dressing gown. He makes his way to the basement and slowly but surely makes his way down, quietly standing on each step.

He flashes his phone around the room but doesn’t see anything that looks suspicious. He shrugs his shoulders and makes his way back to bed. Little did Alex know, he should have stayed and investigated more.

Something Under The Stairs

The following day Alex starts to clear out the basement. Armed with fresh coffee, he rooted through the hundreds of boxes filled with unwanted junk. As he attempted to restore order to this cluttered basement, Alex hears a noise.

It sounds like footsteps. The sound suddenly stops and that’s when Alex notices something near the stairs.
