Boy Blurts Out Why Dad Was Speeding
When John’s son approached the judge, he was invited to sit near him. What kind of nasty ruse was he planning? The judge asked the toddler a question as he moved behind the enormous desk that symbolizes power.
“Is your father guilty or innocent?” John was confident in himself even before the youngster made his speech. John was confident in his son’s abilities. After all, he had taught him correctly. That, though, was the issue.
Second Chances
John Ndlovu counted his blessings when he realized that he had an opportunity to start fresh. He left his home in Ghana to pursue his dreams in the United States.
Ghana would forever be his home, but he had to prioritize what was best for his family. After months of searching, he managed to land a job and a working Visa. Within a few days, he packed up his belongings, and he and his family were on the next plane to America.
Adjustments
Moving to America was a big adjustment for John. In Ghana, drivers drove on the right side of the road, and the steering wheel was on the right side of the car. However, in America, everything is switched.
It wasn’t that difficult for John to learn how to adjust to driving, but he still made mistakes.
He was a great driver; his spotless driving record in Ghana proved it. He used to work as a delivery driver for a store. This meant he’d clocked hundreds, if not more, of hours of driving and driven vast distances.
Quality Time
One sunny Sunday morning, John decided to spoil his family with a treat. Everybody felt like strangers in the city and needed a pick me up. Their new home was located in Providence, Rhode Island.
John gathered his family and took them out to get to know the town they were living in. However, that morning would be much different from what he originally intended when a police officer asked him to pull over.
The Police
A few minutes in since John had left his house, John heard a police siren blaring behind him and let out a deep sigh.
The police officer walked toward John and his family and asked, “Do you know why I pulled you over, son?”
“No, officer,” John gently answered, shaking his head in uncertainty. The officer indicated that he was traveling 35 mph in a 25 mph zone. John’s eyes widened. He never intended to breach any traffic restrictions, and he even kept a spotless driving record in his own country.
