Cat Keeps Disappearing Then Mom Discovers Message On Collar

She hadn’t seen her cat at all in the last six hours and she was starting to get worried. She spent most of her day looking for him, but she had no idea where he could be.

But as the hours went by, her worry only grew and boiled under her skin. She was about to leave her house in a panic to look for him, but then he casually came strolling in. There was a letter tucked into his collar, what it said made her jaw drop.

A Big Move

When Maisie was thirteen years old, she rescued Rex from a local animal shelter close to her house. But now she was all grown up and looking to start college. She moved to Tempe, Arizona and she was so excited to start the next phase of her life.

She took a few things with her to Tempe, including her childhood stuffed animals, novels, and favorite blankets. But most importantly, she brought along someone that meant the most to her.

Best Friends

Maisie didn’t hesitate to take Rex with her. She was excited that he would keep her company in her new apartment in Tempe. By this time, they had been part of each other’s lives for five years.

They had a unique bond, it was clear how much they loved each other. Maisie felt safe with him. Rex was a Maine Coon, one of the largest domestic cat breeds in the world. He was massive! She had no idea that her relationship with him was about to change her life forever.

Her Companion

What Maisie loved the most about Rex was how friendly and loveable he was. Despite his size, he was gentle and giving. He was always purring with delight, especially whenever someone sat with him and gave him pets.

Rex was more than just Maisie’s pet, he was her companion and he made her feel a lot less homesick. Thanks to him, she could acclimate to Tempe a lot better. She was so grateful to have a beloved family member by her side. But everything would soon change.

It Wasn’t Enough

Rex was just a kitten when Maisie had adopted him and he seemed to blossom in her care. In the time they spent together, his fur grew long and luxurious and soon, he was enormous.

The only thing that Maisie worried about was that the upheaval would change Rex’s behavior. She did everything in her power to make sure he had everything she needed to make the transition as easy as possible. But it wasn’t enough.
