Somehow, law enforcement always managed to catch the bad guys in the nick of time. But John’s mother was concerned about her son’s obsession…

On his sixteenth birthday, John passed his driving test with flying colors. But his mother wasn’t so thrilled at the thought of her son being out on the road by himself.

She reluctantly handed over the keys to the truck with a warning: “It’s a small town, John. If we hear one word about you being reckless, you can kiss the truck goodbye.” John knew what kind of dangers were lurking out on the road, but he never expected to witness them firsthand.

John loved driving around his neighborhood and would even offer to pick his friends up from school and drop them off at their homes. He always made sure he drove carefully and everyone arrived safely.

But one day, as he got home, he didn’t see his mother’s car in the driveway and his heart leaped into his throat. With a sick feeling in his stomach, he called his dad.
