What they discovered sent shivers up their spine. They knew that they had gone too far. It started out as a humorous tale, some sort of prank to share with their friends, but quickly transformed into a terrifying story.

However, it was too late to turn back, and they had no other choice but to face the consequences.   When the FBI entered the picture, everything changed.

Their Dream Home

Jeanna and Mark Dayton from Ohio had recently undergone one of the most frightening experiences.

Everything went downhill when they moved into their new home in Columbus. Before purchasing the home, they had done several inspections to ensure that it was indeed their dream home. They had no idea, however, what the property had hidden in its basement.

Mistakes

A sequence of discoveries kept the pair occupied for a few weeks. They were first intrigued and even pleased by the secrets that the home seemed to keep hidden inside, as well as the journey it seemed to be leading them on.

However, as they neared the bottom of an uncanny rabbit hole, they gradually understood that they had taken the worst decision of their lives.

They Were Mistaken

During their first visits to their new home, they did not pay any attention to the basement. They only did a brief inspection before eagerly visiting the other rooms the house had to offer.

There is generally nothing special about a basement. They did not intend on spending much time in the basement, so it didn’t really matter to them. They had no idea how wrong they were.

Where It All Began

However, soon after they had settled in and were comfortable, Mark decided to inspect the basement to see if they might make use of it. Perhaps they could put in a game room or something.

That’s when the strange occurrences began. Mark saw something on the walls when he finally had the opportunity to take a careful trip around the basement.
