Man Feeds Crow Family For Years, Then Receives A ‘Mind-Blowing’ Gift From Them

Even when you think you’ve seen everything in a particular field, life can surprise you. This was the case for Stuart Dahlquist, a 56-year-old bird enthusiast, who thought that he had seen it all when it comes to birds.

However, he was left stunned by the behavior of a family of crows.

Long Time Interest

“Crows are amazing creatures and I’ve always felt this way since I was a boy,” Stuart stated in an interview.

“Birds – all kinds – have been a real focal part of my life; I love watching them, listening to their calls, identifying them…”

New Connection

He never expected to become friends with a new family that moved in next door. A family of crows settled in next his Seattle home. The crows kept to themselves but even so, they were a point of interest to Dahlquist.

Neighbors

“This particular family of crows has been hanging around our house I’d guess about four years,” Dahlquist said.

“They had nested in a large Douglas fir in the front yard and we could hear the babies when the adults fed them.”

New Arrival

Dahlquist enjoyed listening to the chirping of the baby crows. However, when he went outside one day, something was seriously wrong. Gone was the excited chirping of the innocent chicks. Instead, Dahlquist found both of them on the ground.

They’d fallen from the nest.
