Dad Goes Past Men Who Mock Son Daily, Doesn’t Realize What’s Under His Coat

Bullying, as we all know, is a pervasive and global issue. In truth a lot of bullying also happened in the past before the word ever even existed. However, the truth is that bullying isn’t even limited to children. Adult’s bully and get bullied by each other constantly.

When one dad discovered his son was being bullied he knew he had to intervene.

Schoolyard Bullying

Joey Mason was a happy boy who, like many other children, loved to go to the park and play with his soccer ball. Like many other children, Joey was often bullied by other children. There are many bullies at schools and sadly few people know how to deal with it effectively.

Unprepared

Joey, while a little shy, was a typical fourth grader. He loved playing with his pets, a cat and a dog, and he loved to go to the park. His family lives in a residential neighborhood in Toronto, Canada, which has a great park nearby.

However, when a bunch of teenagers, clearly up to no good, spotted Joey, his play time became a nightmare.

Opening Up

“My name is Joey and I’m 10 years old. I am a victim of bullying. It hurts me very much. Please, stop bullying,” wrote Joey on a social media platform. It wasn’t long before his heartfelt plea gained a lot of attention and support.

The person who most needed to read it, his father, was unaware of the situation or the post.

Dad’s Worry

Parents want nothing but the best for their children. This undeniable fact is also why parent’s worry so much about their children, especially if something is upsetting or troubling them. When Joey’s dad began to notice how he was struggling, he became very concerned.

He tried talking to Joey about what was going on, but as so often happens with bullied children, Joey clammed up and wouldn’t say anything.
