But he wondered if they would still see him that way if they knew about the elevator and what went on in there when he needed to destress.

Soon he would be enjoying his retirement, but that didn’t mean he didn’t have more than his fair share of work to get through. He had stacks of paperwork and many phone calls to make before he could trade his badge for a beer.

With the extremely tight deadlines he had to work extra hard. He was used to this in the 29 years he’d been there but that didn’t make it any easier.
