Why Dubai Is the One Vacation You’ll Never Forget
Dubai. You hear a lot about this wealthy Arabian city. But what do you really know about the United Arab Emirates and its most iconic tourist attraction? Every year, Dubai is becoming more and more popular for American travelers.
Here’s why Dubai should be on everyone’s bucket list…
A City That Used to Be All Sand
When you visit Dubai it’s hard to believe that this concrete jungle was a complete desert just 50 years ago.
Since it’s discovery of oil in the 1960s, the once humble fishing village quickly developed into a cosmopolitan city which continues to accelerate in extreme wealth and prosperity, offering holidaymakers a multitude of activities to do while on vacation there.
Visit the Tallest Building in the World
Dubai always venture at being the best at everything. In 2009, the Burj Khalifa took its place as the world’s tallest building at 2,722 feet which houses hotels, apartments, bars and restaurants.
I know what you’re thinking, that’s a hell of a lot of windows to clean! In fact it takes 36 workers three to four months to clean almost 2,500 windows.
World’s Largest Mall
Next to the Burj Khalifa is the world’s largest shopping mall, with everything from high street stores to designer brands. This mall is so big that there are indoor taxis to drive you from a to b.
You may remember the Dubai special of the “RHOBH” where the housewives were carted around the mall in a cab!
Man-made Islands
Dubai caught the attention of the world when the city introduced the concept of man-made islands. How is this possible, you ask?
Well, a mass amount of sand (which is not scarce out there) was unloaded into the sea until it formed a surface above the water. The famous Palm Jumeirah man-made island has everything from villas, hotels, bars, restaurants and a waterpark.
