Firefighters Save Tiny Pups, But When Mom Steps In It’s Too Late

The Puppies

Over the course of the night, the firemen tried after multiple incidents. The tiny puppies fit comfortably into the palm of their hands. The men wiped their tired eyes with a wet cloth, shivering from the cold.

Each puppy was carefully placed into the blanket-lined cardboard box. They were whimpering and whining as they crawled across the small blanket, desperate to cuddle up close to one another. But just then, the men made a strange realization.

A Tough Job

Firefighters have one of the toughest jobs out there. But not everyone can become a firefighter. Before risking their lives on a daily basis, they must pass a few tests.

These tests include written exams that consist of 100 multiple-choice questions around reasoning and logic, spatial awareness, and even memory.

They then have to take a physical ability test. This test involves climbing stairs at a rapid pace while carrying 200 pounds of weight. It is a high-risk job, after all, they do save lives. But sometimes, they receive calls that distract them from life-threatening accidents.

From vehicle accidents to wildfires to stuck animals, firemen receive a wide variety of call-outs. At this point, they’ve seen it all. Every day, they save the vulnerable and rescue the innocent, but that doesn’t take away from the fact that this is an extremely tough job.

They are known for installing fire alarms in homes and businesses to ensure the safety of the community. But there are still instances that surprise firefighters.

Saving Animals

They often have to save animals from all kinds of situations—up trees, on roofs, under buildings, and between pipes. But they don’t only save cats and dogs, these rescues include fish, turtles, parrots, pigeons, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, and budgies.

Over the years, the Colorado Springs Firefighters have become local heroes of citizens and their pets. But sadly, not all animals have loving families that provide for them.

The Scene

One day, the Colorado Spring Firefighters got a call from concerned citizens. They were informed that a litter of puppies had fallen into a storm drain, and they quickly made their way to the scene. They could hear their whines and whimpers from meters away.

The men quickly went down on their hands and knees, trying to find the small, scared animals. A crowd of people formed around them, curious to see the rescue in action. The puppies were vulnerable to predators and it was late in the day. They didn’t have much time.
