Genius 15-Year-Old Creates Groundbreaking Invention To Save Lives
Most teenagers have an array of interests that involve surfing social media, hanging out with friends, and maybe a cool hobby like music or sports. However, one 15-year-old is proving all of the stereotypes wrong.
Jack Andraka has come up with a life-saving invention that is making headlines.
Simple Hobbies
According to his Facebook page, Jack Andraka has a plethora of hobbies that he enjoys. Some of these include mountain biking, kayaking, and white water rafting. However, one interest, in particular, is helping him save lives.
Passion Project
Along with being an outdoorsman, Jack also has quite a passion for science. In fact, his passion is so strong that at the age of fifteen, he was able to come up with a medical invention that’s capable of saving lives. His inspiration was first sparked during a terrible loss.
Loss
Although Jack is now 22-years-old, when he was a teenager he went through a terrible loss. A close family friend of his passed away from pancreatic cancer. It was after this loss that Jack realized how important early detection is for anyone diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.
Spark of Genius
While still living in his home town of Crownsville, Maryland, Jack came up with an idea. He was determined to find a way to effectively detect the disease as early as possible. Through early detection, more and more people would have a chance of surviving.
