Ivanka, however, took his warning lightly. She refused to listen to him, she thought she knew gorillas better than anyone else. But soon enough, she would discover just how wrong she was.

A Spoiled Brat

Ivanka was born with a silver spoon in her mouth. Her father was a rich gas tycoon based in St. Petersburg, Russia. He had gotten rich quickly thanks to his connections and cunning character after the decline of the USSR.

Ivanka grew up in a luxurious atmosphere. She had everything she could have ever asked for, and she was used to always getting her way.

She Grew Up Around Luxury

Her dad was an extravagant man who would often indulge in lavish pleasures. He would throw big parties, buy expensive works of art and antique pieces of furniture.

He would also often buy eccentric presents for their loved ones: family, friends, and business partners benefited from his generosity. But one of his presents was the jewel in the crown.

Exotic Animals

After he became rich, Ivanka’s father bought several exotic animals. Among them were an anaconda and an anteater. But at one point, he went even more lavish.

He bought a baby gorilla as a pet for Ivanka! This was by far one of his most extravagant gestures. And people were wondering how the ape would get along with the girl, who was 5 years old back then.

Well, they got along fine for a few years. After all, the gorilla, which they named Koko, was just a baby. Ivanka had a lot of fun with it: it was docile, playful and everyone found it cute.
