Dorothy had been going to the grocery store herself for many years. It was a reality she and many other people had to face.

Dorothy was quite old but still did her monthly shopping all on her own. But she had no idea her ordinary day would be ruined without warning by a disgruntled employee.

She Had Just Wanted To Pay

Dorothy took out her shopping list and looked at what aisles she’d have to go to first.

After getting everything she needed she headed over to the checkout point. But the cashier would have something to say once she started to pack her bags. She couldn’t believe what she said.

Since it was a monthly shop she had a lot of items to buy which resulted in a full cart. After heaving every item onto the counter she noticed the cashier rolling her eyes. Dorothy brought her own bags because of how much she had shopped.

The cashier scanned all of her items with a scowl plastered on her face. She hadn’t had to deal with so many groceries that day.

She asked Dorothy if she wanted a bag and Dorothy shook her head, pulling out the plastic bags that she had brought from home.

The woman behind the counter just stared at her and remarked, “You know,” she berated, “plastic bags are not good for the environment!”
