South African residents Thulani and Bongani had carefully planned their wedding for months. Bongani had been sure that Thulani was “the one” when they met. Their families became friends, and their lives were entwined.

“I believed we would live happily ever after,” Bongani shared. But on the day of her wedding, something happened that would change all of that.

Everything was all set up for their incredible day. The caterers were already preparing food and the guests were beginning to arrive. Bongani admired herself in the mirror and did a little twirl in her gorgeous bridal gown.

An Expensive Wedding

It was a beautiful and sunny day in Johannesburg. The idyllic venue had been exquisitely decorated with Bongani’s favorite flowers and everything was coming together perfectly — Bongani’s parents had spared no expense for their daughter’s wedding, even though they hadn’t taken to Thulani right away.

They had even discouraged Bongani from dating him at the beginning of their relationship. Bongani, at the time, was baffled by her parents’ suspicions. But she should have listened.
