Hairdresser Stunned By Teenager’s Hair is Even More Surprised to Hear Her Story
In 2017, a teen suffering from depression took the first step in healing her mental health when she bravely got out of bed and sought help.
Surprisingly, the support she received was found at a local hair salon, when two caring hairdressers gave her the help she deserved that would boost her self esteem and ultimately change her life.
A Natural Talent
Maria began her career as a hairstylist before graduating from high school. She had a natural talent for making people smile with her appearance, and she could do the same with hairdressing. In her senior year, she began working part-time at her aunt’s salon to earn extra money.
She was certain that she wanted to study hairdressing in college. She was unaware of the extent to which it would affect her life.
Her Top Goal
Maria eventually found work as a hairstylist in her city two years later. Her ultimate goal was to start her own salon so she could experience everything the industry had to offer. She would work for four years, experiencing both the positive and negative aspects of her line of work.
Up until that fateful Saturday morning, she felt confident that she had seen everything.
A Busy Day at the Salon
It was a busy Saturday for Maria and her coworkers. Every stylist had appointments all weekend long, and the salon was crowded. Maria, however, caught a teen girl peering through the windows as she was finishing up on one of her regular clients.
Given that many people looked in to see what was happening inside the salon, she paid her no attention. But Maria put her comb down after seeing what the girl did.
Anxiety Filled the Room
The girl entered the salon while wearing a hooded sweatshirt that was too big and a pair of grey sweatpants. With her hood over her head and her fingers fidgeting by her sides, she swept her blue eyes across the crowd. She was anxious, and Maria could tell.
She smiled at her as she turned away from her clippers. The girl, however, whirled around and sprinted out of the store.
