It is not rare for tornados to take the lives of innocent people and leave communities devastated. Unfortunately for the residents of Mississippi, exactly that happened when a storm with several tornadoes swept through the state, leaving the ruins of local businesses and hundreds of homes in its wake.

Mississippi is a Hotbed for Tornados

Frank McNight lives in Rolling Fork, Mississippi, an area that is no stranger to dangerous storms and tornadoes.

The flat land and dry air make the state a hotbed for tornadoes and although Frank and his family knew that one might happen soon, they never expected to feel as unprepared as they did when the wind started to kick up.

Multiple Tornadoes

During this storm in particular, multiple tornadoes had touched down before the storm reached Frank’s home.

Although Frank was following the storm’s path on his phone, by the time the storm reached their city, he knew there was no time to pack up their valuables and go without being caught in the eye of the storm. So he decided to wait it out at home.

The House Began to Shake

Soon enough, the sky went dark and Frank could think of nothing else but the storm coming. The wind was louder than he had ever heard it before, and he could already feel debris hitting the sides of his house.

Frank knew that the only thing that mattered now was making sure his kids were okay, so he ran around the house trying to find them all.
