How Did an Average Worker Break Into the Protected Vaults of the Bank of England?

The phrase “impenetrable” is used considerably more often than it should be, if history has taught us anything.

Even though the city of Troy was said to be so, all that was needed to enter was a Trojan Horse. What about the Titanic, though? That iceberg didn’t seem to be having any issues.

Is being impenetrable truly a sign of strength, or is it more of a test to see how far one can go?

It was only a matter of time until someone decided to put the Bank of England’s reputation as being “impenetrable” to the test.

The BoE was no match for one unexpected worker and the astonishing discovery lead him to the prize of a lifetime despite the bank’s enormous size, stringent security, and clever design.

It’s difficult to believe there are still organizations devoted to storing actual money in a world when currency is swiftly becoming obsolete.

However, if you go along London’s Threadneedle Street, you’ll come upon the second-oldest bank in the world.

The Bank of England, which was established in 1734, upholds economic stability in the UK. The BoE has maintained the country’s financial stability for close to 300 years, despite the fact that this may seem like an impossible feat for one bank to do given the type of riches housed there.

Worth Its Weight In Gold

Over 400,000 gold bars, a vast treasure valued at £100 billion, are hidden under the bank’s floors.

With only a few hundred thousand bars separating it from the New York Federal Reserve, this places the Bank of England as the second-largest gold keeper in the whole globe.

To prevent them from sinking into the earth, the gold bars, which weigh more than 5,100 tons, must be evenly distributed throughout eight different vaults.

Walls eight feet thick, huge doors with foot-long keys, and even speech recognition technology support these vaults.
