Man Builds A Full-Size Replica Of Noah’s Ark And Tries To Sail It

Most people know the biblical story of Noah’s Ark. However, it’s not always common that the story actually inspires someone to do something similar.

When the person started to work on his ark, as in the original story, he was scoffed at. Little did everyone know, just like Noah himself, now everyone is actually admiring what he’s done.

The Uprising

Biblical stories often spoke of many great extinction-level events. The world might feel like it’s moved on since the days of the great floods. However, global warming has shown us the opposite.

According to scientists, rising sea levels will one day lead to these apocalyptic kind of disasters if left unchanged. Every person may have their own opinion on that but for a Dutch native named Johan Huibers, he’d rather be prepared.

The Great Plan

A devoted follower of Christianity, Johan would often spend hours reading stories from the bible to his kids. According to him their favorite chapter of the bible was Genesis.

Of course, among the stories from there, the story Noah’s Ark stuck out. As Johan was reading the story again one day, he could not help but notice that there was something disturbing about it.

All Too Real

The modern world certainly seems to draw some heavy parallels with the story. Just as Noah was forewarned about the great flood, Johan recognized that scientists around the world have been trying to warn the world for decades about similar dangers.

At first, the idea was just a fleeting thought but as time wore on, Johan couldn’t help but realize that Noah’s story contained some all too familiar warnings that seemed to be playing out again.

The Dream

Johan later had a chilling nightmare about all the great cities of the world being trapped underwater. Although it came to him in the form of a dream, Johan felt like it was a kind of vision.

Johan has been a believer since the age of 24. Ever since then he’s been questioning what can be done. It was then that he came up with the idea to build his own Ark as a means of bringing the word of God to life again.
