Man Buys $100 Dresser At Yard Sale, Then Finds Hidden Drawer With Treasure
First Glance
Oftentimes, it’s hard to tell the worth of something at first glance. We all have encountered something or someone and thought that we had a grasp of everything there was to it.
But on some occasions, something might happen that can completely change our expectations. This happens quite often at yard sales!
Miscalculated Value
So why do people usually go to yard sales? Usually, it’s in an attempt to find a diamond in the rough, like some valuable items that have gone unseen by everyone else. It’s to discover items which are more valuable than others might think.
But what if these item’s worth was miscalculated not only by the people who gave it away, but also by the people reselling it? Emile Knodell happened to find an item just like this.
Emil Knodell
Emil Knodell was a 67 year old man from Texas. He was a retired marketing director, as well as a US veteran. Ever since he retired, he enjoyed scouting around estate and yard sales.
What he enjoyed the most was finding a few bargains, and he was often surprised by his rare findings. But he never could’ve expected what he found at his next yard sale in Missouri, Texas.
Low Expectations
When he showed up at the yard sale, he didn’t expect to find anything out of the ordinary. He expected it to be just another run-of-the-mill yard sale.
But despite this expectation, he still looked forward to it. Every time he went to one of these sales, he would find something he liked enough to take home with him. Sometimes it would be something useful to take home, or it would be something he could get a good price for.
On some occasions, he would get a nice souvenir from that particular yard sale. But this time was different.
Experienced Company
The yard sale had been organized by a real old-timer, experienced company, which meant that ever item sold would be carefully examined and precisely priced. This was why Emil wasn’t expecting any diamonds in the rough.
He knew that with these kinds of yard sales, what you saw was what you got. No more, no less. But he would soon discover that the company’s employees overlooked one item in particular.
