He finally finished his project. He could see that his hands were bruised and blistered, but he knew that it was worth it. He would do anything to make his father proud. He was well aware of what his neighbors thought of him, but he didn’t care.

Maybe he was crazy, perhaps he wasn’t, but it didn’t matter.

This was the most time-consuming project he had ever done, and he was embarrassed about how much money he had poured into it. His father’s design was followed to a T, and he could not help but let out a sigh of relief once it was completed.

However, he never anticipated that it would attract the attention of the authorities.

Like Father Like Son

Hans Davidson, who resided in the Netherlands, spent most of his life perfecting his career as a craftsman. He could make anything out of wood, and he wanted his son, Noah, to follow in his footsteps.

Every weekend Hans would show his son how to work with wood and when he felt comfortable, they began working on projects together.

The pair created many things, such as cuckoo clocks and wooden animal carvings, and Noah enjoyed every second of it. Noah remembers this time with his father fondly.

Growing Apart

Noah eventually graduated high school and moved into a place of his own. He managed to get a well-paying job and met the love of his life. Things were going great for Noah, but sadly he did not have a close relationship with his father anymore.

Noah got so busy with work he could no longer visit his father as often. He was unaware that his father had one last project that he needed him to help with.

Something Was Wrong

Noah got up early one morning and braced himself for the day. He made himself a cup of coffee, some eggs, and bacon for his children and took them to school. There was something special about that day.

On his way to work, he got a phone call. Noah had a rule never to accept any calls while driving, but that call was from his mother. She rarely called him, so he knew that something was wrong.

Terrible News

Noah immediately answered and asked if everything was okay. He parked at the nearest gas station to give her his full attention. Nothing could have prepared him for what she was about to tell him.

It was terrible news. He could barely hear what his mother was saying because she was crying uncontrollably. All that he could hear was that his father had passed away. He knew that things would never be the same again.
