Man Discovers His True Identity After Living On Streets For Decades

Mick Myers spent many years of his adult life homeless, but it hadn’t always been that way. As time went by and one season rolled into the next, the world seemed to forget who he was.

But after roaming around without an identity for so long, he ran into a cop who took Myers on an unimaginable journey to find himself.

As a boy, Mick Myers was studious kid who scored decent grades and even participated in his high school’s marching band. He had a handful of friends growing up, but could never quite get along with his siblings. The older he got, the more his relationship with his family deteriorated.

Everyone Kept Avoiding Him

Like most homeless people, Mick Myers was often ignored as he roamed around the streets of Hayward in Alameda County, California. “Most of the people just hurry by and don’t even give me a glance,” Myers told KPIX 5. But someone had noticed him, and it was too late to avoid him.

Myers usually rose after a 6-hour sleep, sometimes he’d get less, sometimes more but 6 was his average. He didn’t need much sleep to get by. So with an 18-hour day to fill, he had a lot of time to kill. You see, Myers didn’t have a lot on his schedule.

It was something he desperately wanted to change. Little did he know, his wish would soon come true.

Myers struggled to find structure in his day. But that didn’t mean he didn’t always try to keep a routine. He decided he would spend most of the day panhandling near a freeway on Foothill Boulevard in Hayward. But he had drawn some unwanted attention from the police.
