Man Runs For Help When He Sees Why Dog Guards Tomb

He looked up and noticed the storm clouds drawing near. A tear rolled down his cheek as he said his farewells before the rainfall. He could feel it was near as the breeze grew stronger with each passing moment.

He readied himself to leave, but the sound of a dog whining grabbed his attention. He knew that he needed to turn around and go, but he needed to find out where the sound was coming from. What he saw made him freeze in his tracks.

Pete Richford resided in North Carolina and worked as a lecturer. Pete was only thirty-two years old, but he was an ambitious man and had accomplished a lot in his life.

He had a well-paying job that he loved, a beautiful girlfriend, and the best support system anyone could ever ask for. Regardless of his accomplishments, Pete had done something that few people his age did.

He Loved His Father

Pete has done many amazing things in his life, but he still lived next to the house he grew up in. Pete and his father had the kind of connection that most people could only dream of.

Pete’s father raised him on his own, acting as both his mother and father. Even though he was a grown man, the thought of moving away from his father broke his heart. However, things were about to change.

A Good Conversation

It was a chilly winter’s evening when Pete received a call from his father, who had been struggling with his health that year. His father appeared to be doing better on the call; Pete could not help but feel like he should go check up on him.

However, he pushed those feelings aside and continued the conversation on the phone. He spent the better part of his evening on a call with his father. His father spent the majority of the call expressing how proud he was of Pete.

He went to bed that evening with a warm feeling, blissfully unaware of what was about to transpire.

Bad News

The following morning Pete received a call from his father’s caretaker, who stated that his father was unresponsive. They rushed to the hospital, but it was too late. He was declared dead as soon as they arrived.

Pete’s heart broke into a million pieces. It was difficult for him to process that his father’s last moments were spent alone, and he could have so easily gone to check on him. He had no clue what the future held for him.
