Man Spots Fin And Notices Animal Needs Help
All he could see initially was the fin. The situation was looking more grave by the minute. His breath began to quicken as he wondered what he could do to help.
Taking off his boots, he waded out, intent on doing something. As he got closer he could tell that he underestimated the danger. He called out to his team for help urgently.
The Peninsula
Located on the South-West Coast of England was the Cornwall Peninsula. Known for its many beaches and fishing villages, the county of Cornwall was a bustling and popular spot for spending time with nature.
Charlie Taylor was a fisherman that had been making his living there for some time. Charlie, like many others, was able to carve out a respectable living because of the close proximity to harbors. He’d thought he’d seen it all until, one day, he had a hairy experience.
The Riviera
Often known as the Riviera, Charlie lived in a harbor town known as Falmouth. Growing up, he had been thought how to fish by his father who often took him on trips to pass down the family trade.
As Charlie grew older, his fascination and love of fishing and sea life only grew. Charlie became passionate about this trade and always maintained a healthy respect for the natural environment and all the creatures he shared it with.
Like Father, Like Son
By age 33, Charlie’s father had passed away and he was left to survive the trade by himself. Aside from all his knowledge and experience, Charlie’s dad had also left him his trawler.
Charlie was confident that he was up to the task of captaining his own crew and making good use of the fishing vessel. However, the team encountered a situation that even Charlie’s dad might have had trouble with.
The Crew
Realizing that he was only going to be as successful as the crew he hired, Charlie looked to the local fisherman for help. He soon put together an experienced team to head out.
It didn’t take the team long to find their stride. They were soon independently fishing the same waters Charlie had with his dad. However, as Charlie was soon reminded trawler fishing was an inherently dangerous activity.
