Man Spots Lost Painting Inside Other Painting
He was frozen in his tracks. He had walked through those halls so many times, not noticing that anything was special about them.
It was right there in front of him this whole time but he had never even noticed it. But once he did, he’d be scrambling for the truth or some kind of evidence. Without it, no one would believe him.
Like Home
Michael Varcoe-Cocks felt at home at Melbourne’s National Gallery of Vicoria. He spent so much time at the gallery but he knew he couldn’t stop himself.
Michael not only worked at the gallery, but he was the head of conservation too! But it was truly his passion and he couldn’t have been happier.
Art Fanatic
He was an art fanatic! This passion would mold the man that became the expert in all of the paintings in the gallery. He knew all the art like the back of his hand and could tell you a lot about each piece.
But after lockdown started everything changed, and not for the better.
Silent Killer
The gallery sealed its doors and all the art sat in the dark for many months. This meant that the priceless works of art were in danger from dust!
You see, dust attracts insects that like to eat the particles. This means that the insects can eat dust off of the surface of a painting, damaging it in the process.
Dark Walk
Michael knew that the job of cleaning them was way out of his skill bracket. All he would do was patrol the halls checking up on every painting – making sure it hadn’t been damaged.
In the dark hallways, the painting changed the meaning completely. Sinister undertones in brush strokes where happiness and joy were in better lighting.
