Man With Oldest DNA In America Cashes Out
He had tried this test so many times, why would this time be any different?
He knew how ludicrous it sounded, they knew they had a lot of heritage. But when something terrible happened, he knew what he had to do, and it would shake his entire world upside down.
Proud Of His Heritage
Wayne Pedersen was a Blackfoot, and he was proud of where he came from.
He recalled fond memories of sitting around the fire with his brother while the elders spoke of their culture and ancestry. But only when he was an adult did he realize that there had to be a few inconsistencies with their stories.
Oral Traditions
One story that he remembered the most clearly always started the exact same way.
It was the story of how his people moved across the country to find a new home. It took generations but they managed to make it to the Great Plains where they settled.
Oldest Tribe
He remembered being proud of the fact that his elders always told him that their tribe was the oldest in North America.
But a woman named Sally Abrams was just as invested in his culture as he was. She was an instructor at Chief Dull Knife College and found an unsettling fact about his tribe.
No Stories Of Ice
“There’s no oral stories that say we crossed a bridge or anything else.”
Wayne felt distraught at the news. But his brother thought of a way to try and give him some hope. An ancestry test could give him the answers he was searching for.
