Robert had never been a materialistic or sentimental man. There were only two things in his life that mattered the world to him, he would stop at nothing to protect these two things. His wife and his home.

Robert was in love with his neighborhood. It was quiet and peaceful and it was situated in a very safe area. Robert never could have imagined that the safety of his family would be threatened in his own home. When the time came, he was forced to act fast.

Relaxing Morning

Robert and his best friend, Tom, were enjoying a relaxing morning together when Tom began to speak. He told Robert all about the stories he had heard about their neighborhood in the last week.

At first, Robert wasn’t really alarmed by Tom’s unsettling stories. He knew that Tom often exaggerated his stories. But what bothered him was that they all had an unsettling theme of theft and lack of safety. Robert had a bad feeling about it and it only got worse as days passed.

Loud Noises

In the middle of the night, Robert woke up from a deep sleep. He was disoriented by loud sounds traveling through his quiet home.

He tried to locate where the sound was coming from and eventually, he discovered that it was coming from outside. He jumped to his feet when he realized that the noises were getting closer and closer to his house.

As soon as he got on his feet, the loud music stopped. He thought, “Did the noise stop because I noticed it?

Is someone watching me?”

He quickly looked out the window as he slowly and carefully walked closer to it. He was determined to discover where the loud sounds were coming from. But soon he saw what was waiting for him.

He was surprised and confused as he spotted the group of men. They were busy trespassing his property and infiltrating his backyard. What was going on? Who were they?

Robert’s eyes trailed to each of their faces, desperate to identify who they were, even if he could just identify one. Robert gasped as he asked himself, “What are they trying to do?” This woke his wife up.
