Now that they were watching the footage, they couldn’t believe their eyes. They would never be able to get the image of Caesar holding the kitten in his mouth out of their minds.

Caesar had lived a tough life. As a puppy, he was stolen from his home and got groomed for illegal dogfighting. But eventually, he was found and rescued. He was a Pitbull and had been trained to be vicious, because of this veterinarians advised the couple to be careful around Caesar.

They warned them that dogs with his history were likely to be aggressive and dangerous, and even hard to control, especially when they were around small children and animals.

Looking after Caesar was challenging. It was clear that he was severely traumatized by his past as an abused pup. He was distant and scared around people, he always tried to hide from them.

But the Ashersons were determined to help him. They remained patient with him and tried their best to show him as much love as they possibly could. It took a lot of time, but eventually, Caesar started changing.

After some time passed, Caesar began to show signs of being another normal and healthy puppy. It started with him wagging his tail from time to time, especially when Jake or Mindy entered the room.

Every day he got slightly better. He began to realize that they weren’t a threat and that they were his safety net. For the first time in his life, he was able to be a normal dog. But soon they would realize that Caesar still had the potential to be dangerous.
