Mom Posting Vacation Pic Doesn’t Notice Background
When the photos suddenly went viral she knew she had to look at them again. They were photos of her friend and her cousin, taken at different times. At first glance, she didn’t notice anything odd but when she looked closer she finally saw it.
There, way in the background of one of the pictures was something she would never forget. Her heart started to race and she felt her blood run cold. She didn’t understand what she had found but now the viral sensation made sense.
The Mystery Peak
Dundas Peak is a popular hiking spot in Canada. It has an incredibly scenic viewpoint which happens to overlook the city of Hamilton, in Ontario. It also happens to be home to Tew’s Falls, the highest falls in Hamilton.
Due to the peak’s terrifying nature and beauty it has become a popular place for people to take photos.
However, something was hiding in that beautiful wilderness but now, thanks to her, there was proof.
Perilous
According to the local authorities, there had been a sharp increase in missing persons reports on the peak. Few of them were ever found again.
Despite these reports and the inherent dangers of the peak, more than 140,000 visitors have flocked to Dundas Peak since 2016. Little did one of these visitors know that he would set off a very strange chapter in Dundas Peak’s history.
The Photo
The photo the man had taken showed himself on the edge of the peak in a pose popular among those who took photos there. There didn’t seem to be anything to distinguish his photo from any other taken there.
He was wearing a dark jacket and jeans, sitting on the edge of the outcrop, one leg dangling over the edge of the abyss below. Nobody had picked on what was lurking in the background yet.
Recreating
His cousin, Kim, had seen his photos and a few days later she decided to go up to the peak with one of her friends. She arranged for a babysitter and headed off to the peak to go and recreate her cousin’s photo.
The women hiked the 2.4-mile circular trail to the spot they were looking for. They took turns to pose and recreate the photo, not knowing that they were about to find something sinister.
