School Under Investigation After Mom Finds Daughter Locked In School ‘Jail’
When you, as a parent, drop your children off at school you expect that while they are there they will be protected. You expect the school to care about and for your children not only when they are doing well but even more so when getting punished.
Cause And Effect
As much as we wish they were, parents know that no child is good 100% of the time. Sometimes punishment and negative consequences are needed. In a school environment, this is often done by making the student miss recess or giving them detention.
Detained
Generally, when a child is given detention they have to remain in a classroom with a teacher and either finish their homework or are given extra work to do.
However, it seems that things have gotten much darker at one elementary school in Colorado, according to one mother.
Allegra
Allegra Ramstad is an 8-year-old student at Rock Ridge Elementary School. According to her teachers, she was given detention for threatening a student.
However, when her mother, Connie Ramstad, arrived to pick her up at school she saw something that shocked her.
Confined
When Connie found her daughter, she was horrified by the sight. Allegra had been put into a small, two-by-four-foot room with mesh grid over the windows. As Ramstad described it, it was a “jail cell”.
Even more unbelievably, school officials complained that she had been crying for hours.
