Flowers are incredible parts of nature. They vary so much in size, shape, and color. And with so many species on the planet it’s not so surprising that at least a few look quite weird.

Lamprocapnos

When in bud form the Lamprocapnos looks like a heart with a drop beneath it. With a shape like that the plant has been nicknamed the “bleeding heart”. The beautiful flower can be found in Sibera, Japan, North Korea, and China.

Impatiens Psittacina

When Joseph Dalton Hooker first discovered this plant in 1901, he noted how the brightly colored flower looked like a “flying cockatoo” from a certain angle. This plant is called the Impatiens Psittacina and is part of the balsom family.
