When she went to sleep, she could see her neighbor’s beautiful, green yard. But the next day, she woke up to the sound of drilling, and suddenly, the yard looked very different.

It wasn’t her yard, and she didn’t want to be too nosy, but she was curious. When she noticed something strange going on, she just knew that she had to investigate.

Jill Thompson could only watch from her window as she watched the more and more holes appearing in the neighbor’s yard. She was curious, maybe a pest problem?

Just as she worked up enough courage to consider asking she saw him digging up the soil with his hands like a deranged person. She decided it better not to ask.

Jill had never even introduced herself to her neighbor, she’d only waved from across the street when he first moved in. But what was he doing in his yard? surely he had a good reason.

She just felt that something was off about all of this. The digging was seemingly random and caught her suspicions.

No Introductions

Neighbors normally came by to introduce themselves when they moved in. But it was strange that he seemed to enjoy keeping to himself.

He never stopped by to say hi. He was a reserved man who rarely left the house. He seemed to have many secrets. She just hoped they weren’t sinister.

Strange Encounter

When she finally got a chance to introduce herself he didn’t seem to be keen at all. She asked him about the move and the neighborhood and how he found it all.

He just replied with one word, “fine”. He clearly wasn’t interested in making conversation and now he was making his strange makeover on his yard. What was going on?
