No One Believed Grandpa’s Stories Until They Found A Dusty Box In His House

One of the most difficult, painful, and heartbreaking experiences one can go through is a death in the family. Losing someone you love can cause grief, stress and sadness that can take years to overcome.

Grandpa Tom passed away, leaving behind his two grandchildren, Leo and Gigi, as well as his only daughter Alice and her husband Jake. But it wasn’t until they went through his belongings that his family realized how little they actually knew about Grandpa Tom’s life.

Diagnosed With Alzheimer’s

Unbelievable Tales

Alice frequently looked on during story time because she had never witnessed Grandpa Tom being so talkative. The stories appeared to be embellished. Grandpa Tom must be mixing up his memories of real events with something he saw on television, she thought.

After all, Alzheimer’s disease can affect a person’s memories and thoughts. Alice and Jake thought Grandpa’s Tom stories were made up. They cautioned their children against placing too much faith in Grandpa’s tales.

But Grandpa Tom insisted that the events described in the stories really did occur. Even though Leo had his doubts, he continued to listen to Grandpa Tom’s tales. Gigi wholeheartedly trusted Grandpa Tom, but she was only four years old.
