Where Are They Now? Viral Meme Stars
Imagine what it would be like if someone used your photo every time they wanted to illustrate something funny, or ridiculously outrageous? You’d become an online laughing stock like these famous meme stars.
But have you ever wondered where they are now? Did some of them bank of their fame or did they slowly fade into oblivion?
What Are Those? Then

Internet comedian Brandon Moore was the man behind the viral “What Are Those” meme. In 2015, Moore filmed a cop and panned down at the officer’s shoes. Then Moore asked “What are those?!
,” which was his own way to taunt the cop and make fun of his shoes. After he posted the video on Vine, the meme became an internet megahit and was often used to burn someone wearing fugly shoes.

Sadly, Brandon Moore passed away in his Northern California home in 2018, at the sweet age of 31. There was no foul play or any previous health conditions. But he probably said “what are those” when he saw the lights guiding him home.
Rest in peace, buddy. We’ll miss ya!
Hot Felon, Then

Jeremy Meeks became instafamous when his 2014 mugshot went viral online. He quickly became known as “hot felon.” After he got out of jail, he began modeling on international runways and in magazines like Vogue.

After breaking it off with his wife of ten years, Melisa Meeks, he developed a new relationship with British retail heiress, Chloe Green and were often seen traveling around the world, and cozying it up on a yacht.
2018 was pretty good for Meeks, indeed. In May, he welcomed a son named Jayden. His probation also ended early in October. So things were really looking up!
