Cop Receives Letter From Girl, He Never Imagined What He Would Find Inside

When nine-year-old Brooke Yoast went to the gas station for donuts, she found herself in a situation that even adults dread. The sweet-natured youngster placed her order, but when it came time to pay, she realised she didn’t have any money.

Weeks passed since the incident and the guilt was still weighing on her over what happened next. Brooke froze when the cops showed up at her house.

Like most kids, Brooke had a sweet-tooth. And more than anything, she loved donut holes. It wasn’t unusual for her to head to the local Sheetz to pick up a box of her favourite treats.

But this particular snack run would be one she’d never forget. When it came time to pay, Brooke reached into her pocket – and her heart sank into her stomach when she found her pockets were empty.

Standing there in front of the cashier, Brooke was lost for words. She had never been in this situation before. The youngster always double checked she had everything with her before she left the house to avoid exactly this nightmare.

Would the cashier be angry with her? Would she get in trouble? When she turned around, she got her answer.

Right behind Brooke stood a police officer. Just when she was wishing the ground would swallow her up, the situation had gotten much worse.

On the brink of tears and not being able to process what was being said to her, Brooke rushed out of the store. “It was almost like she robbed the place. It was that quick,” said Pennsylvania State Trooper Chad Savannah.

Although she was relieved to have escaped the situation, Brooke just couldn’t shake the guilt over what she’d done. She had never run out of a store like that before, but her fear of getting into trouble with the police took over.

Eventually, she came up with a plan to put things right. But she never imagined her future actions would result in another confrontation with the cops.
