Older Generations Share What They Wish They Had in High School That Kids Today Do

The teens and kids of today have no idea how lucky they are. At least that’s what folks from older generations think…especially when it comes to the ease of modern technology that’s now available.

And that’s exactly what they’ve decided to share with us.

People from older generations have taken some out to tell us the things they wish they had back in high school…the things that kids today supposedly take for granted. If you’d like to see whether you agree with them or not, keep reading.

Open Friend Groups

What I wish I had isn’t tangible, but the 14-year-old me would’ve done so much better if my group of friends were allowed to be more open with our feelings.

I look at my teenage son and I’m astounded by how fearless these kids are when they admit things I never would have dared, when I was young. I really wish I had that.

When I was in high school, the internet was really only accessible during my senior year. And what I realized was that I wish I had it my entire life.

I had projects that would take three months without a connection, but when I did get one, I managed to finish in a week. I spent weeks upon weeks fact-finding.

Digital Photography

I wish my friends and I were lucky enough to be raised in a time where digital photography existed. When I want to school, my friends and I had so many good times, but there are hardly any pictures because almost no one had a camera on-hand and even then, they didn’t bother getting the film developed.

MP3 Players

These darn kids and their MP3 players! When I was young, I was lucky enough to have a Walkman to bring with me to and from school. Even with anti-skip, the songs would still take some time to buffer.

And let’s not even talk about how many batteries I ran through. Today, kids can listen to whatever they want, whenever they want with no need for batteries.
