Almost every Christmas story talks about a chubby old man from the North Pole who slides down chimneys to make sure that good kids around the world get their presents every year.

The story has been heard so often that it’s difficult to not associate the man in red with the ventilation structure.

This story, however, is a bit different from those you’ve heard before. In the small town of Dinwiddie County, Virginia, there was something strange going on with one resident’s chimney, and it didn’t involve Santa, his elves, or anything to do with holiday cheer.

One family reported hearing strange noises coming from their chimney, but no one knew exactly what was causing it. Once authorities arrived on the scene, they were surprised by what they found.

The Small Town of Dinwiddie

Dinwiddie County in Virginia was your average quiet county where everyone knew each other, and most people were either friends or acquaintances. No one would have ever thought that something like this would have happened in a place like that. It was something that would have only been seen in movies.

Alerting The Authorities

On that fateful Tuesday afternoon, firefighters and the authorities were called to the peaceful neighborhood as several people reported hearing noise every time they passed by the chimney of one of the houses on that fateful afternoon.

A Cry For Help

When the fire and emergency crew arrived on the scene, loud shrieks, like someone calling out for help were heard coming from the chimney.

A young girl on the scene begged them to check it out, but they had no idea that what they would find was going to change their little town forever.

After hearing the weird noise themselves, they immediately tried to figure out a game plan to release the person from their ten by 10-inch chimney cell. They were also trying to figure out how the person got there, to begin with.
