People Share the Most Heartwarming Acts They’ve Ever Witnessed
Small and kinds gestures can go a really long way, especially when the person on the receiving end has no idea what goodness awaits them.
There are hundreds of stories about people, mostly random strangers, going the extra mile to help others in need.
Whether it’s giving them the clothes off their backs, a vehicle, or a well needed talk, these tales help restore a bit of faith in humanity. They also remind us that even in our darkest times, there’s someone out there who’s willing to help.
Here’s a list of the most heartwarming acts on the internet.
Sleeping in the Park

I was having a very rough morning a few years back. My little brother died after being hit by a drunk driver. While I was at work, I got pulled out of a meeting by my boss’ boss for a phone call.
They called my cell phone a dozen times, but I had it turned off because of my meeting. I didn’t cry in the office, I walked to a nearby park and I cried there. I was there for quite a while when a couple of homeless people came up to me.
We began to talk, and they felt bad for what had happened. That evening, we drank vodka from a jug and ate canned food with our bare hands. I slept in the park and woke up to find a blanket wrapped around me. I was extremely grateful.
A Seven Mile Trip

I returned to my car after leaving a store to find that I’d locked my keys and phone inside. A teenager riding his bike saw me kicking my tire comes over to me and asks, “What’s wrong?” I explained my situation and told him that even if I could call my wife, she could not bring me the spare as it was our only car.
He gave me his phone and said “Call your wife and tell her I’m coming to get her key.” It would have been a seven miles round trip. He said, “Don’t worry about it.” An hour goes by and he returns with the key.
I offered him some money and after refusing, he said, “Let’s just say I needed the exercise Then he rode off into the sunset.
A Hardworking Dishwasher

My parents got divorced a couple of years ago and while two of us were kicked out, my younger (13-year-old) brother was left between the fighting divorcees.
I took custody of him and three years later, he has a part-time job as a dishwasher at a Mexican restaurant. One day while picking him up, the manager asks why I kept picking him up, and where our parents were.
I gave him a summary, but nothing too crazy. The owner offered to pay my college tuition so that I could better take care of my brother. He even set up a fund for him.
I’m now going to medical school for free and my brother will have the same opportunity when he leaves high school. I would never be able to thank him enough.
A Soldier’s Sacrifice

Back when I was married to my first husband, I had a one-year-old baby and we were traveling during Christmas. At the time, my ex was deployed in the United Arab Emirates and it made me a tired mess.
The flight was delayed due to a snowstorm, then it was canceled. A few of the passengers sit around the gate sharing sad stories when one man in the army explains that he’s headed home to see for Christmas to see his little girl.
Suddenly an announcement comes up and a few people get seats on the next flight. My daughter was crying, and I was on the verge of crying with her when a rep calls my name. The soldier had given up his seat for me.
I insisted that he retakes his seat when he says, “any military husband would do the same for my wife.” I got to spend Christmas with my family, and he didn’t.
